Mr James Cameron
Chief Executive Officer, National Water Commission
James Cameron is the Chief Executive Officer of the National Water Commission. The Commission is Australia’s national water reform agency. It provides independent assessments of the progress of Australia’s federal and state governments in delivering on their reform commitments, as well as policy advice, advocacy and practical, financial support to help drive the water reform agenda.
Mr Cameron joined the Commission in October 2009. Prior to his appointment, he had a broad ranging career in the Australian federal government across the industry, communications and cultural portfolios. In particular, he has held senior management roles in the responsible for the reform and regulation of Australia’s telecommunications, broadcasting and media sectors, the development of the information and communications technology sector and managing Australia’s arts and sport policy as well as its key cultural institutions.
James holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Studies.
Mr Brian D'Arcy
Environmental Consultant
With BSc and MSc degrees in biology, Brian has worked for most of his career in water pollution control, learning the practical aspects of the work through jobs in three very different areas of the UK, working for four different organisations. He also worked briefly as a biologist, documenting the return of fish to the River Mersey. Brian provided the technical lead for SEPA the Scottish Environment Protection Agency, on diffuse pollution, including regulatory opportunities. He has also been one of the leading people in the UK in developing SUDS technology – Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems, continuing that work now as an independent consultant in the years since leaving SEPA. Brian is a former Secretary of the International Water Association Diffuse Pollution Specialist Group, and still active with the Group and IWA.
Mr Adrian McGregor
Director, McGregor Coxall
Adrian McGregor is a Landscape Architecture and Urban Design professional and Managing Director of McGregor Coxall, a Sydney based environmental design studio. Graduating with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture in 1988 he began his career in Sydney and then worked in North America and the UK.
Adrian founded McGregor Coxall in 1998 and the Biocity Studio in 2006 to combine practice with research and academia. The firm has received more than 40 awards including the prestigious Topos Journal International Landscape Architecture Practice of the Year in 2009 presented in Reykjavík, Iceland. He was also selected as one of Sydney’s 100 most creative people on the ‘Creative Catalysts’ list 2008.
Dr Peter Coombes
Managing Director, Bonacci Water
Dr Peter Coombes is a conjoint Associate Professor of Integrated Water
Cycle Management at the University of Newcastle and a director of the independent research and consulting company Urban Water Cycle Solutions. He is also a founding director of Bonacci Water, was a national research project leader in the eWater CRC and an Associate Professor of Chemistry and Biomolecular Engineering at Melbourne University.
Peter has recently served as a member of the Prime Minister's Science, Engineering and Innovation Council working group on Water for Cities, as a member of the urban advisory panel to the National Water Commission, is a corresponding member of Engineers Australia's National Committee on Water Engineering and served as a member of the Victoria Government's Our Water Our Future working group on alternative water sources. His research interests include Integrated Water Cycle Management, Water Sensitive Urban design, hydrology, analysis of complex systems and molecular sciences including water quality. He has generated over 150 scientific publications and design more than 120 sustainable projects including cities that generate all of their water resources.

Mr Bryan Dawe
Bryan Dawe is one of Australia's finest political satirists. He has enjoyed a long, successful career writing and performing on national radio, television and film.
Best-known for his work with John Clarke on the ABC's 7.30 Report where they prick the balloons of the nation's alleged political leaders. Bryan was also a cast member and writer of the critically acclaimed and highly successful spoof of the Sydney Olympics, the ABC TV series The Games.
His film credits include the Australia hit comedy The Castle, The Honorable Wally Norman, and Paul Cox's Lust and Revenge.
For many years, Bryan has been writing and performing two much loved satirical characters on ABC Radio: Sir Murray Rivers QC and Roly Parks with his Letter from Kalangadoo.
Another facet of his many talents include his luminous, avante-garde photography. His first exhibition Imperfect Illusions was held in Melbourne in 2005 and was followed in Sydney and Canberra in 2006. His touring exhibition Interval was shown at Monash Gallery of Art at Wheelers Hill in Victoria, in Canberra and Sydney.
As Chair and co-founder of Common Fate, Bryan is a very public supporter and promoter of the work of senior indigenous leader, Pat Dodson.
Bryan's sharp wit and observation together with his flexibility and unique performances make him a popular addition to any corporate event. His obvious talent lends itself to MC, facilitator, hypothetical moderator, conference speaker and after dinner entertainer.
