11.15 am - Tackling Complex Problems
A brief presentation will describe a practical framework for understanding and tackling complex problems
11.30 am - Setting the Agenda.
Participants will be asked to identify the key issues relating to community education and engagement for councils. These issues will form the agenda for the session after lunch.
12.00 noon - Lunch
1.00 pm - Exploring the Issues.
Using the agenda developed before lunch, participants self-select the discussions they wish to engage. Three sessions, each of 45 minutes, will be conducted.
3.00 pm - Prioritisation.
Participants will identify the actions that be taken to improve how local government can build sustainable communities through learning? These actions will then be prioritised.
3.15 pm - Afternoon Tea
3.30 pm - Action planning.
Participants will work in groups to develop action plans to tackle the highest priority actions. Three rotations will occur to allow participants to provide input to multiple action plans according to their expertise and interest.
4.45 pm - Closing comments
5.00 pm - Forum Close
